The Union boys basketball team came off the football field and to the basketball court with hard-fought win at Enterprise.
The Yellowjackets pulled away to take a 54-46 win over the Bulldogs while the Lady Yellowjackets took a 56-36 win.
Union has a busy week of games as they will travel to Leake County on Tuesday. Union will then play in the Sebastopol Tournament on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Union boys 54, Enterprise 46
The Yellowjackets pulled away and took an eight-point win for their first win of the season.
The score was tied at 13 at the end of the first period and Union held a 23-22 lead at the half. The Yellowjackets started to pull away in the second half as they outscored the Bulldogs 12-9 in the third and 19-15 in the fourth.
The Yellowjackets used a balanced scoring attack to take the win as E.J. Campbell led Union with 12 points. Jamarkus Jones had 10 points while Jada Russell had seven points. Kenyon Clay and Dylan Harrison each had six points apiece.
Union girls 56, Enterprise 36
The Lady Yellowjackets outscored the Lady Bulldogs in every period and cruised to a 20-point win on Tuesday.
Union led 20-16 at the end of the first period and the Lady Yellowjackets pulled away in the second period, outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 12-2 to take a 32-18 lead at the half. Union continued to pull away in the second half as the Lady Yellowjackets outscored the Lady Bulldogs 14-11 in the third and 10-7 in the fourth.
Keirra Russell led Union with 21 points while Kamyia Russell had nine points. Taniqua Hunter, Trinity Lambert and Keshona Smoot each had six points apiece.
