Hilda Nickey and Tarina K. Anderson were the two top vote getters in the Choctaw Tribal Council election for the Conehatta seats on Tuesday, June 13.
Nickey received 176 votes while Anderson received 163 votes among the field of 12 candidates. Timothy Thomas Sr. finished third with 159 votes, Troy Chickaway finished fourth with 148 votes, Max Anderson finished fifth with 89 votes, Jesse Thomas placed sixth with 76 votes, Gregory Shoemake finished seventh with 62 votes, Jonathan Williams placed eighth with 59 votes, Rockky Isom finished ninth with 46 votes, John P. Smith placed 10th with 45 votes, Elray King finished 11th with 23 votes and Loretta Nickey Williams finished last with 16 votes.
In the Pearl River council member race, Deborah Martin and Barry McMillan were the top candidates for the two seats. In Standing Pine, Loriann Ahshapanek captured the seat. In the Bogue Chitto race, Roderick Bell and Kendall Wallace were the two top vote getters. In Tucker, Dorothy Wilson captured the seat, and in Crystal Ridge, Christopher Eaves was victorious.
