Newton County residents looking for a firework show to celebrate the Fourth of July will want to head to Turkey Creek next Wednesday for the second annual Independence Day firework show.
A variety of activities are planned for the event, including bounce houses and face painting.
Food vendors will also be on hand, with the Decatur Volunteer Fire Department selling hamburgers, hotdogs and fixings, beginning at 5 p.m., and Mr. Mike, of Mr. Mike’s Frozen Yogurt, set up to offer a cool treat to stave off the summer heat.
The park will be open all day, and residents are invited to come early to swim, eat and relax before watching the colorful pyrotechnic display at 9 p.m.
Admission to the firework show costs $10 per vehicle, payable at the gate. For those wanting to watch the show from the water, the boat ramp will be open for an additional fee.
