The Newton County Academy Lady Generals added two more wins to the total with a pair of double-digit wins last week.
NCA will finish out the regular season this week as they host Sylva Bay on Thursday.
NCA girls 53, Laurel Christian 43
The Lady Generals needed overtime as they pulled away in the extra frame to take a 10-point win over the Lady Lions.
NCA doubled up Laurel in the first period, outscoring the Lady Lions 20-10. Laurel took the second period 9-7 to cut the lead to 27-19 at the half. Each team scored 11 points in the third period while Laurel outscored NCA 13-5 in the fourth to send the game into overtime. NCA then outscored Laurel 10-0 in the overtime period, led by six points from Macie Woodham to take the win,
Woodham led NCA with 18 points while Addie Bergeron had 16 points. Addison Mathis had eight points while Sydnee Cosgrove had five points and Lillian Nutt added four points.
NCA girls 46, Discovery Christian 16
The Lady Generals outscored the Lady Lions in every period and cruised to a 30-point win.
NCA jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first period and outscored Discovery 10-6 in the second to lead 24-6 at the half. NCA continued to extend its lead, outscoring Discovery 12-10 in the third and 10-0 in the fourth.
Macie Woodham led NCA with 14 points while Lillian Nutt had nine points. Addie Bergeron had eight points while Ayden McDill had five points.
NCA boys 37, Laurel Christian 35
The Generals rallied after an early deficit and took a two-point win over the Lions.
Laurel Christian took an early lead as they took a 13-8 lead at the end of the first period. The Generals took the second period 8-7 as Laurel led 20-16 at the half. NCA pulled even in the third period as they outscored Laurel 10-6 to tie the game at 26-26 going to the fourth. The Generals then outscored the Lions 11-9 to take the win.
Cooper Savell led NCA with 11 points while Noah Agent had nine points.
Discovery Christian boys 27, NCA 18
The Lions build an early lead and held on to take a nine-point win over the Generals in a defensive battle.
Discovery outscored NCA 13-1 in the first period while the Generals outscored the Lions 4-0 in the second period to lead 13-5 at the half. NCA took the third period 5-2 to cut the lead to 15-10 going to the fourth. Discovery then pulled away and outscored NCA 12-8 in the fourth to take the win.
Cooper Savell led NCA with nine points.
