Lake only got in one game last week and made it count.
The Hornets pulled out an exciting win as they held on to beat Forest 50-48 while the Lady Hornets took a 43-34 win over the Lady Bearcats.
Lake will return to action after the Thanksgiving break and will play at Bay Springs on Tuesday, Nov. 30 and at Leake Central on Thursday, Dec. 2.
Lake boys 50, Forest 48
The Hornets grabbed their first win of the season with a two-point win over the Bearcats last week.
Lake held a slim 11-10 lead after the first period but the Bearcats outscored the Hornets 22-8 in the second to lead 32-19 at the half. Lake dominated the second half as they outscored Forest 15-9 in the third and 17-7 in the fourth to take the win.
Curly Robinson led Lake with 17 points while C.J. Gilstrap had 13 points and Cameron Hunt added 12 points.
Lake girls 43, Forest 34
The Lady Hornets overcame an early deficit and took a nine-point win over the Lady Bearcats last week.
Forest led 9-6 at the end of the first before Lake outscored the Lady Bearcats 14-5 in the second to lead 20-14 at the half. Lake led 26-23 after three periods and then outscored Forest 15-9 in the fourth to take the win.
Laneisha Palm led Lake with 17 points while D’Nara Barton had 12 points.
