This weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day and the most important people in all our lives. Everyone reading this has that one person, Mom, that brought you into this world and most likely threatened to take you out of this world a few times in your youth.
Mothers are the first person you see and touch as a baby. And from that moment on, you’re hooked. The sight or sound of your mother brings comfort. Everything that’s wrong is about to be right. And that’s the way it is for the remainder of your life.
She worked with you tirelessly through the evening to help you understand your math homework and holds herself to a thread from beating you senseless for not getting it in a timely manner.
She baked each evening during couple weeks in October so you could sell homemade snacks at school as a fundraiser for your class and be named the Halloween King. Or come up short every year because you ate half of the goods yourself.
She went to every game you played in, home or away, no matter how far off it was. Made sure you were at practice on time and was there to pick you up afterwards. And win or lose, she says you and the team played great. Even if you were on the sideline.
To all you mothers out there, have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your day. You deserve it.
To my mother, thank you for being the best Mama in the world. Throughout life, you’ve always gone above and beyond. You still do. You’re simply the best and thank you for being a great example.
