June 11, 1933 - February 23, 2025
Mary Edna Dearing, 91, of Newton, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. Born on June 11, 1933, in Newton, Mississippi, Mary lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved mother, truly loved by many. She was a blessing to many.
She loved to read her Bible faithfully every day, when she would have read it all the way through, she would begin anew to read from the beginning and could answer most any question pertaining to the Bible. Some of her favorite songs were Midnight Cry and It’s still the blood along with a few others.
She trusted the Lord to take care of her. She was faithful to her Church. Her favorite outside activity was bowling. One of the ladies that bowled with her commented that she had enlisted her assistance in encouraging her husband to bowl because he was discouraged and was not going to bowl this time. She was successful and they both enjoyed bowling many more years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. 'Bobby' Dearing; her granddaughter, Angela Dearing; her parents, James Henderson Blanks and Eva Belle Welch Blanks; her brothers, Ervin Blanks and Carl Blanks and her sisters, Mildred Blanks Chapman and Mattie Jane Blanks Davis.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Robert E. Dearing, Sr. and his wife Martha and Roy Dearing and his wife Anita; her daughter, Sherry Guttery; her grandchildren, Robert E. Dearing, Jr., Andrea Dearing Mills, Royce Dearing and Russell Dearing; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Newton County Funeral Home - South, located at 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, MS.
