Brian D. Mayo of Newton has been elected to a 3-year term on the Board of Commissioners, the governing body of The Mississippi Bar, representing District 8. Members of the Board include elected officers and representatives from each of Mississippi’s Circuit Court Districts.
Mayo is the owner of Mayo Law Firm, PLLC, in Newton, where he maintains a general civil practice. He serves as Newton’s City Attorney, as board attorney for the Newton Municipal School District, as board attorney for East Central Mississippi Community College, and as Family Master for the Second Chancery Court District. Mayo earned an undergraduate degree from Northeast Louisiana University and a Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law.
Mayo is a past president of the Newton Rotary Club. He and his wife, Paula, have two children, Isaac (16) and Hannah (14).
