The Lake Lady Hornets split a pair of games last week in the Enterprise Tournament.
The Lady Hornets beat host Enterprise 13-3 and then lost to D’Iberville 4-1.
Lake will return to action on Monday as they travel to Kosciusko before returning to division hosting Newton on Tuesday. Lake will play at Newton on Thursday and at Pisgah on Friday.
Lake 13, Enterprise 3
The Lady Hornets pulled away with six runs in the seventh to take a 10-run win over the Lady Bulldogs on Saturday.
Each team scored two runs in the first inning before Lake scored four runs in the third inning. The Lady Hornets scored one in the fifth to go up 7-3 and then finished with six runs in the seventh.
Lake had 13 hits in the contest and took advantage of five errors. Kate Gladney had a big game at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Laurel Breland was 2-for-4 with four runs scored while Josie Gibbs was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Taylor Duncan was 2-for-2 while Brantlee McGee was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Taylor Clark also scored three runs for the Lady Hornets.
Duncan started in the circle and pitched all seven innings and gave up three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out 14.
D’Iberville 4, Lake 1
The Lady Hornets struggled at the plate as the Lady Indians took a three-run win on Friday at Enterprise.
Lake scored its lone run in the second before D’Iberville scored three in the third. The Lady Indians added a single run in the fifth.
D’Iberville outhit Lake 5-3 in the contest. Kate Gladney tripled while Laurel Breland and Gracie McKee each singled. Taylor Clark scored Lake’s only run.
Gladney started in the circle and pitched all six innings, giving up four runs, only one earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out nine.
