The Union Yellowjackets started slow in both games last week but finished strong to pick up a pair of wins.
Union took a big division win at Philadelphia on Tuesday, beating the Tornadoes 50-47. They finished the week with a 48-34 win over Stringer on Thursday.
The Lady Yellowjackets lost 54-39 to Philadelphia but finished the week with a 46-17 win over Stringer.
Union will finish out the regular season with two home games as they host Philadelphia on Tuesday and Newton on Friday.
Union boys 48, Stringer 34
The Yellowjackets overcame a slow start and used a big second period to take a 14-point win over the Red Devils.
Stringer led 16-11 at the end of the first period but the Yellowjackets outscored the Red Devils 14-1 in the second to lead 25-17 at the half. Each team scored nine in the third period and Union finished by outscoring the Red Devils 14-8 in the fourth.
Jamarcus Jones led Union with 22 points while Kenyon Clay added eight points and Cameron Pascal added seven points.
Union girls 46, Stringer 17
The Lady Yellowjackets outscored the Lady Red Devils in every period and took a 29-point win on Thursday night.
Union outscored Union 11-6 in each of the first two periods to lead 22-12 at the half. Union continued to extend its lead in the second half, outscoring Stringer 14-5 in the third and 10-0 in the fourth.
Kerria Russell led Union with 14 points while Taniqua Hunter had nine points. Kamyia Russell also chipped in eight points.
Union boys 50, Philadelphia 47
The Yellowjackets overcame a slow start and took a hard-fought three-point win over the Tornadoes.
Philly jumped out to a 17-10 lead in the first period and each team scored 13 points in the second period to lead 30-23 at the half. Union fought back in the second half as they outscored Philadelphia 13-8 in the third and 14-9 in the fourth to take the win.
Jamarcus Jones led Union with 20 points while E.J. Campbell and Kenyon Clay each had 12 points apiece and Bryce Young added six points.
Philadelphia girls 54, Union 39
The Lady Tornadoes built a big lead in the first half and held on to take a 15-point win over the Lady Yellowjackets on Tuesday.
Philly led 11-10 at the end of the first and then outscored Union 15-4 in the second to lead 26-14 at the half. Union outscored Philly 16-13 in the third to cut the lead to 39-30 going into the fourth. The Lady Tornadoes outscored the Lady Yellowjackets 15-9 in the fourth to take the win.
Madison Buckley led Union with 11 points while Kamyia Russell had 10 points. Georgia Cooper had seven pints while Trinity Lambert added six points.
