Cindy Thompson’s third graders experienced Christmas this year with a week of discovery through the pen of Dr. Seuss and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” With similes and metaphors, observations of character traits in Mr. Grinch, as well as cause and effects in the book, students were challenged with a quote “Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store? What if Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!” The week ended with characters from the book coming to life standing from left: Brennen McMillan, Emma Ward, Bryce Hughes, Hollis Thompson and Addison Posey with “Max the Dog” aka Jase Roberson.
