Rachel Shaw Mulholland
Rachel Shaw Mulholland came into the world as Rachel Glene (pronounced Jah-lean) Shaw on Dec. 16, 1938, in Neshoba County. As the youngest of nine children in the Shaw family, she was fortunate to have parents who believed in teaching the values & benefits of growing up in a loving, Christian home. As an adult, she took those values and beliefs and instilled them in the rearing of her own children. She took great pride in the accomplishments and abilities of her family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her southern charm and hospitality were apparent even during the straightforwardness that she was known for.
Rachel will be remembered by all of us as a wonderful mother, who lovingly rushed in all the birthdays, anniversaries and significant dates in the family; as well as ensuring each member understood their assignments for any of the events.
She will be extremely missed, but we are all grateful to have had her for the time that God gave her to the world.
Rachel is preceded in death by her parents by her parents, Richard and Nellie Shaw; brothers and sisters, Dee Jordan, Ann Winchester, Donnie Thomas, Evelyn Magee, E.H. Shaw, Edd Shaw and William Shaw.
She is survived by her sister, Florine Watkins of Florence, Miss.; four children, Kathy Potter (Mark) of Dixon, Mo., Sherry Freer of Philadelphia, Angel Grant (Chuck) of Brandon, Miss. and Ernie Marshall (Sara) of Sebastopol; five grandchildren, Ryan King of Bogue Chitto, Miss., Cody Grant of Florence, Miss., Chase Marshall of Sebastopol, Jared Marshall of Gautier, Miss. and Cy Marshall Sebastopol; seven great grandchildren, Shaw King, Noah King, Callie King, Cassidy King, Logan Grant, Tanner Shepard and Karleigh Hegwood and many special nieces, & nephews, whom she treated as her own.
