The Lake Lady Hornets picked up another win on the hardwoods last week over traditional power Bay Springs.
The Lady Hornets rode a hot start to a 46-32 win while the Hornets dropped a 77-36 decision to the Bulldogs.
Lake’s other game last week against Pisgah was cancelled.
Lake has three games on the schedule for this week as they are set to travel to Newton County on Tuesday and then travel to Bay Springs on Thursday and Morton on Friday.
Lake girls 46, Bay Springs 32
The Lady Hornets scored almost half of their points in the first period and cruised to a 14-point win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Lake started hot and led 21-10 at the end of the first period. Lake then outscored Bay Springs 10-7 in the second to lead 31-17 at the half. Lake outscored Bay Springs 8-6 in the third while Bay Springs took the fourth period 9-7.
Laneisha Palm led Lake with 15 points while Laurel Breland had 11 points and La’Nara Barton added nine points.
Bay Springs boys 77, Lake 36
Bay Springs doubled up Lake in the first and led 16-8 at the end of the period. Bay Springs then got rolling as they outscored Lake 25-7 in the second to lead 41-15 at the half. Bay Springs kept on rolling as they outscored Lake 25-8 in the third to lead 66-23 going to the fourth.
Leezedrick White led Lake with 14 points while Jalen Theus had 11 points.
