Lake at Newton: Hornets rush past Tigers 38-14 in division opener

The Lake Hornets found their rushing attack last week as they opened division play.
The Hornets ran for 346 yards and took a 38-14 win over Newton last week.
Lake improves to 3-3 on the season and will host Puckett on Thursday night while Newton falls to 1-5 on the season and will host Pelahatchie on Thursday night.

A recent Gallup poll found 85 percent of respondents disapprove of Congress’ work. Reports suggest about 90 percent of people think term limits will align Congresspersons’ incentives with the common good. They won’t.

The Newton County Middle and High School campus is receiving morning announcements through Google Meet. Each week new hosts take the opportunity to include the Pledge, the School Code of Conduct, and Daily Announcements from left: Media Specialist Ben Wall, NCMS Seventh Grader Madeline Lang, NCMS Seventh Grader Hunter Chaney, and NCMS Principal Jessica Loper.

Union Basketball: Jackets Win One in Tough Week

It was a rough week for the Union basketball teams, winning just one game in six contests.
The Union girls lost all three games, falling 45-41 to Noxubee County, 65-30 to Nanih Waiya and 65-23 to Choctaw County.
