Young Troy Brand served in the National Guard for a few years, while also working in his father’s grocery store before deciding he wanted to sell furniture. He launched the Troy Brand Furniture Store in 1964, by putting a sign on the door which said, “If you want to look at furniture, come get me at the grocery store.”

Newton County Junior Auxiliary

Pictured are members of the Newton County Junior Auxiliary. The organization is a 100% volunteer, nonprofit organization whose primary mission is to serve the children of Newton County. Members are currently in the midst of selling chances for the 3rd Annual Jingle Run, where the winner will receive a $300 grocery shopping spree.
