The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, February 28, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A potent storm will continue to bring showers and
thunderstorms across much of the eastern United States
tomorrow. Some of these thunderstorms will turn severe, and
will be capable of producing heavy rain, locally damaging
winds and even isolated tornadoes. As a strong cold front
travels eastward across the country, sharply colder
conditions will spread across the center of the nation, and
lake-effect snow showers can develop across the western
Great Lakes. Temperatures will trend as much as 20-40
degrees Fahrenheit lower than the day before from Wisconsin
and Michigan to Texas. A new storm will bring more rain and
high-elevation snow to the Northwest. Showers, even with a
rumble of thunder, will develop across southern portions of
New Mexico and Arizona.
