NATIONAL SUMMARY
Tropical storm Alex will continue to move farther off-shore
today, while bringing heavy downpours to Bermuda. A few
thunderstorms are still expected to be around along portions
of the Southeast coast. Rain and thunderstorms will develop
over the central Plains and into the Midwest with a few
storms perhaps becoming strong-to-severe late in the day.
Showers and thunderstorms will affect coastal Oregon and the
intermountain west, with a few rumbles of thunder across
Montana and Colorado. There could even be some rumbles of
thunder across the interior Northwest. Dry and sunny
conditions will continue over much of the the Southwest as
record heat continues to build across Texas.
