The Mississippi High School Activities Association will finally kick off the 2020 football season this week.

Four of the six schools in the Newton County Appeal’s coverage area will kick off the season this week; with the exception of Newton, who is open after losing North Forrest.

Generals set to host Porter’s Chapel Friday

The regular season is finally upon the Newton County Academy football team.

The Generals will kick off the regular season this week when they host Porter’s Chapel on Friday night in their season opener.

First-year coach Arnie Oakes said he sees his team getting better as the regular season approaches.
