MAIS Class A All-Star Football Game: Four Generals Selected as All-Stars

Newton County Academy will be well represented this week in the MAIS postseason all-star games.

The Generals placed four players in the Class 1A All-Star game. Making the team from NCA Andrew Boothe, Amos Castillo, Cooper Savell and Taylor Burt.

Basketball: Lady Generals Pick Up Three Wins

The Newton County Academy girls picked up three wins last week on the hardwoods.

The Lady Generals beat Laurel Christian 46-42 on Monday and then beat rival Sylva Bay 36-27 on Tuesday. They finished the week off on Thursday as they beat Enterprise 42-29.

Newton County Academy RB Cooper Savell ends his season as the areas leading scorer with 254 points, as well as rushing leader, gaining 2001 yards on 182 carries and averaging 11 yards a carry.

The NCA girls fell 54-28 while the Generals lost 60-27.
