Christmas is a time of giving and celebrating, and the Newton Theatre Company is opening the doors of The Roxy Theatre on Sunday to do just that on Dec. 8, as they host their annual “Christmas at The Roxy”.
The event, set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, gives the community a perfect opportunity to enjoy some great holiday performances in exchange for a donation of canned food for a local food pantry.
“As we have been so blessed as a community and a theater, this is our way of giving back to those that may need a little extra help by asking everyone to donate a canned good, which will be donated to the Hickory Food Pantry Food Drive,” said Andrea Morgan, Vice President of the Newton Theatre Company Board. “We have several wonderful local performers lined up for ‘Christmas at The Roxy’”, so we invite everyone to come give towards a great cause, while getting into the Christmas Spirit.”
Performers include Larry Blackburn, Amanda Blackburn, the Newton Elementary School Choir, the Antioch Christian Church Praise Group, Pierce Allen, Jean Claire Bounds, Kristie Harris, and more.
