The 59th Annual Newton County 4-H/FFA Junior Livestock Association Show and Sale was held on January 6 at the Newton Showbarn, where they had a great turnout and netted roughly $30,000 from the sale. Winners from the Junior Livestock Show included the following: Champion Market Steer - Madison Luke, Newton 4-H; Reserve Champion Market Steer- Laya Westbrook, Newton 4-H; Champion Market Hog - Levi Clark, Newton 4-H; Reserve Champion Market Hog- Anna Kate Westbrook, Newton Co FFA; Champion Commercial Gilt - Katelyn Clark, Newton 4-H; Reserve Champion Commercial Gilt - Levi Clark, Newton 4-H; Champion Haired Market Sheep - Malachi Harmon, Newton Co 4-H; Reserve Champion Market Haired Sheep - Lilly Harmon, Newton Co 4H; Champion Breeding Ewe- Malachi Harmon; Champion Commercial Heifer - Jerilyn Jayroe, Union FFA; Reserve Champion Commercial Heifer - Amelia Williams, Newton Co 4-H; Champion Registered Heifer - Jerilyn Jayroe, Union FFA Reserve; and Reserve Champion Registered Heifer - Madison Luke, Newton 4-H.
