The Newton County softball team had a dominant week on the diamond, taking four wins by a combined 55-0 and giving up just three hits.
The Lady Cougars beat Leake Central 15-0 and 19-0, Greene County 7-0 and Morton 14-0.
The Newton County baseball team took two out of three games last week, beat Stringer 13-0 and 12-4 while falling 5-3 to Neshoba Central.
The Newton County tennis team won three out of four matches last week and improved to 11-4 on the season.

The Lady Cougars racked up 55 runs as they took four shout wins last week, beating Leake Central 15-0 and 19-0, Greene County 7-0 and Morton 14-0.
On Tuesday, County beat Leake Central 15-0 behind a 15-hit attack. Hannah Chaney was 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs while Mary Preston Williams was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Gracey Woods was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Adilyn Vaughn and Kolbie Wansley each had two singles. Lexi Stevens pitched all three inning perfect innings and struck out four.
On Thursday, County scored 15 runs in the third and took a 19-0 win. County had nine hits as Gracey Woods was 2-for-2 with two doubles and three runs scored. Hadley Amis was 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs. Emma Kate Munn tripled while Shae Jimmie homered and drove in three runs. Lexi Addy started and pitched two no-hit innings and struck out five. Lexi Stevens pitched a perfect last inning and struck out three.
The Lady Cougars beat visiting Greene County 7-0 on Saturday. The Lady Cougars scored four in the first, two in the third and one in the fifth. County and 10 hits in the contest, led by Lexi Addy who was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Kolbie Wansley was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and four RBIs while Shae Jimmie was also 2-for-4. Lexi Addy, Adilyn Vaughn and Gracey Wood each had doubles for the Lady Cougars. Addy pitched 5 2/3 innings and struck out four to pick up the win while Landry Brunson pitched the last 1 1/3 innings
The Cougars finished out the week on Saturday with a 14-0 win over Morton. County scored five in the first, six in the second ad three in the third. The Lady Cougars had nine hits as Kolbie Wansley doubled and drove in five runs. Adilyn Vaughn also doubled and scored two runs. Shae Jimmie pitched four perfect innings and struck out six to get the win.

The Newton County Cougars came back from spring break and took two out of three games, beat Stringer 13-0 and 12-4 while falling 5-3 to Neshoba Central.
The Cougars took a 13-0 no-hit win over the Red Devils on Tuesday. County scored two in the first and second, six in the this and three in the fourth. The Cougars had 14 hits, led by Caleb Potter who was 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs. Cooper Johnson was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Camden Thoms, Collier Magnum, Landry Tolbird and Landen Huber each had two hits apiece. Ethan Burton pitched all four innings and scattered four hits while striking out 10.
On Friday, the Cougars completed the two-game sweep as they took a 12-4 win over the Red Devils. County scored three in the first, third and fifth and two in the second. County had nine hits and took advantage of six walks and six errors. Vance Richardson was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs while Cooper Johnson was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Brady Bounds started on the mound and pitched five innings, giving up four runs on four hits while Hayden Townsend pitched two scoreless innings and struck out four.
The Cougars finished out the week with a 5-3 loss to Neshoba Central. The game was tied 2-2 after five innings before Neshoba scored three in the seventh to take the win. County had six hits, led by Collier Magnum who was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Landry Tolbird also doubled for the Cougars. Landen Huber started on the mound and pitched 3 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on four hits while Braxton Dean pitched the last 2 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on three hits.
Newton County is scheduled to host Leake Central on Tuesday in a division doubleheader and will finish the week on Saturday at home against Enterprise.

In boys doubles, Drew Walker and Hayes Holliman won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot while Seth Gipson and Caden Chaney won 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot. In girls doubles, Reese Thoms and Katie McDonald won 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot while Ellie Russell and Abby Williams won 5-7, 6-2 10-7 at the No. 2 spot. In mixed doubles, Keaton Gray and Samantha Boykin won 6-1, 6-4.

On Saturday, Newton County played two matches at Jones College. In the first match, County lost 5-2. Alissa Luke won 6-1, 6-4 in girls singles while Drew Walker and Hayes Holliman lost 6-1, 1-6, 10-7 at No. 1 boys doubles.
In the second match of the day, County beat Stone County 4-3. After losing both singles matches, Drew Walker and Hayes Holliman won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 boys doubles. In girls doubles, Reese Thoms and Katie McDonald won 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 at the No. 1 spot while Ellie Russell and Abby Williams won 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot. In mixed doubles, Keaton Gray and Samantha Boykin won 7-5, 6-3 to secure the match win.
Newton County will host West Lauderedale on Tuesday and West Jones on Thursday to finish up the regular season. The division 4-4A tournament will be at East Central on Monday, March 31.
