DECATUR, Miss. – Emily Terrell of Newton County High School triumphed as the 2025 Distinguished Young Woman of Newton County during the event at Huff Auditorium on March 16.
Competing against Addisyn Fox and Lexi Stevens, Terrell stood out in a contest celebrating the exceptional talents of Newton County's young women.
The Distinguished Young Woman program provided these juniors a stage to showcase their skills and compete for scholarships, with the spotlight not just on the title but also on a $4,000 scholarship and the opportunity to advance to the state competition in Meridian.
The competition's segments, which included talent, self-expression, and fitness, built on their scholastic and interview performances, displaying the contestants' dedication and hard work in a vibrant and motivating event.
