Newton County United Givers Fund recently held its distribution for the 2023-24 drive on Tuesday at the Newton Historic Depot. More than 30 different organizations received donations from the drive. The goal of the non-profit organization is to provide a united fundraising drive for the community at-large to participate in.
With NCUGF supporting fire departments, libraries, school band & athletic departments and organizations throughout the county, UGF would like to encourage businesses, individuals and groups from these areas receiving donations to participate in future drives to help ensure the fund can continue for many years to come. To donate, send a check to the Newton Chamber of Commerce addressed to the Newton County UGF. Organizations receiving donations this year included: Boy Scouts local troops, Girl Scouts of America, Newton County 4-H, Newton Academy athletics, Newton County Band & Athletic Departments, Newton Municipal Band & Athletics, Union School Band & Athletics, Newton Municipal Scholarships, Newton Public Library, Decatur Public Library, Union Public Library, Salvation Army, Volunteer Fire Departments of Chunky, Conehatta, Beulah Hubbard, Decatur, Duffee, Gibbstown & Hickory, Newton Fire Department, Union Fire Department, Newton Arts Council, Newton Theatre Company, Newton Historical Cultural Commission, Newton Beautification Project, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Newton Chamber of Commerce, Newton County Youth Organization, Friends of MS Veterans, Newton Parks & Rec Department, Footprints Adult Day Services & Afternoon Adventures.
