UNION - Laird Hospital, a division of Rush Health Systems, is launching a partnership with the American Lung Association of Mississippi to bring the Better Breathers Club to Laird Hospital in Union. The American Lung Association’s Better Breathers Club program has been connecting people living with lung disease to education, support and each other in communities around the country for over 40 years.
A trained facilitator will lead each session to provide support and information for those who suffer from chronic lung conditions such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and asthma while getting support from others in similar situations. The club addresses a variety of topics including exercise, how COPD affects the lungs, breathing techniques, air pollution and much more.
This free support group will meet on the first and third Tuesday of every month from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. in the conference room of Laird Hospital, 25117 Hwy 15, Union.
The first meeting will be May 14th. Family members and caregivers of those with chronic lung disease are also encouraged to attend.
