NOTICE TO LOGGERS
The Newton County Board of Supervisors will be accepting bids for the logging (preferably chipped) of 32.3 acres +/- of timber located in Decatur, adjacent to the National Guard Armory, in section 30, township 7 north, range 12 east. All timber is to be harvested. The corners of the timber to be logged have been flagged and all prospective bidders may contact the county administrator’s office (601-635-4150) to arrange a time to view the timber. The winning bidder will have until March 31, 2022, to log the area. The bid should be for a lumpsum amount. Bids should be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Bid for Timber” on the outside. Bids will be accepted in the Newton County Chancery Clerk’s Office until 9:00 a.m. on October 18, 2021, with the bids to be opened shortly thereafter. The Board reserves the right to reject all bids.
