Advertisement for Bids for Bank Depository
Pursuant to the order of the Board of Supervisors of Newton County, Mississippi, passed by the Board November 1st, 2021 meeting, sealed bids are invited and will be received by the said Board of Supervisors of Newton County until 10:00 a.m. December 6th, 2021 for Depository or Depositories for County and County District Funds and Tax Collections, and/or any and all other public funds of said County for the years 2022 & 2023, according to Section 27-105-305 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.
Understanding the market fluctuates and that a “fixed rate” could not prudently be quoted, the Board requests that bids be stated in relationship to federal reserve discount rate as a base for interest.
Further, it is required that each Bank, submit a plan for receiving daily deposits without relying upon daily deliveries by the County.
The Board reserves its right to reject any and all bids. All bids must be marked “Sealed Bid for Bank Depository” on the outside of the envelope, and be submitted to the Chancery Clerk’s Office.
