Attention all 1st – 5th grade kids! The Newton Theatre Company will be holding auditions this weekend for their children’s Christmas play “The One and Only Santa Claus”.
Auditions for this magical holiday production, filled with cheer, charm, and thirty-two speaking roles, are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m., and Sunday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m., at the Roxy Theatre in Downtown Newton. According to director Jonathan Thorne, children will only have to cold-read lines to audition, and nothing has to be prepared.
First rehearsals for the play will begin on Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m., with a mandatory parent meeting. Rehearsals are scheduled for Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 6:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 9-11:30 a.m.
Performances will take place on Nov. 7-9.
