Services for Ms. Lois Pennington of Decatur were held 3 P.M., Sunday, December 08, 2024 at Decatur Methodist Church with burial in the Decatur City Cemetery. Bro. Bruce Taylor officiated.
Ms. Pennington, age 100, died Thursday, December 05, 2024.
She was a member of Decatur Methodist Church. She retired from Newton Public Schools.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean Marks (Fred) of Canton, Kathy Pennington of Decatur and Cindy Pennington of Hattiesburg; two step granddaughters; four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. Pennington is preceded in death by her husband, James “Doc” Pennington; one brother, George Woodward and parents, George and Brunett Woodward.
Pallbearers were Kirk Johnston, Tyler Spears, Hunter Vance, Matthew Woodward, Eric Evans and Chris Douglas.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Johnston, Jack Evans, Raymond Overstreet, Johnny Knochenmuss, Jimmy Woodward, Olen Thomas, Todd Pillsbury and Ricky Horton.
