Annie Lucille Gammill, age 90, and a resident of Newton died Wednesday, April 5, 2023, following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. till the service time at the funeral home. Bro. Proby Gammill and Bro. A.D. Gammill officiated. Graveside services were not held, the family remained to visit with friends. Mrs. Gammill was laid to rest on Tuesday morning April 11, 2023, with her husband, Proby Gammill in the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton.
She was born in Gunnison on February 19, 1933. Mrs. Gammill was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, and being outdoors. She was a member of the Lawrence Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Porter Aycox and Sallie Redden Aycox; and her husband, Proby Gammill, Sr.
Survivors include her two children, Proby Gammill, Jr. (Judy) of Lawrence and Keith Gammill (Sandy) of Lafayette, La.; and seven grandchildren.
