Dorothy “Dot” Williams Watts, 72, of Newton, Miss., passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Anderson's Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Miss. She was born Friday, June 4, 1948 in Newton, Miss.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at the Newton County Funeral Home-South in Newton, Mississippi. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Newton County Funeral Home-South and the burial was at 2:30 p.m. at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, Miss. Bro. Justin Chaney will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement (601) 635-3200.
Mrs. Dot was employed with State Farm Insurance Company working in numerous locations. After retiring after 45 years she decided to come back home to Newton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton, Miss. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her special dog, Nicholas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Watts; parents, Charles “Duck” Williams and Edna Williams; daughter, Amanda Leigh Watts; sisters, Bobbie Gressett and Addie Warren.
She is survived by her son, Scott Watts (Chastity); grandchildren, Kaelon Harris (John), Aubre Watts and Brady Watts; sister, Mary Warren; nieces in which were her caregivers, Lisa Hamm and Melinda Tyler; a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were J.T. Harris, Mike Gressett, Mark Gressett, Josh Gressett, Brady Watts and Barry Barrett.
