Susan “SueSue” Braswell, 42, of Decatur, Miss., passed away surrounded by her family, Saturday, April 17, 2021, at her home. She was born Thursday, Jan. 25, 1979, in Jackson, Miss.
Visitation was held Tuesday, April 20, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Newton County Funeral Home-South. Funeral Services followed at 12 p.m. in the chapel. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Rose Hill. Bro. Phil Smith officiated. Newton County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Susan, affectionately known as “SueSue”, loved everyone and was a second mother to her nieces and nephews. She loved gardening flowers, being outside or just being with her mom. But on an occasional weekend, you could find her at the casino with friends. SueSue always cared for anyone who was in need. Her phrase was, “I’m always just a phone call away.” Above all, she loved her mama.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clayton and Margurite Walker; nephew, Kurt Simoneau.
Survivors include her mother, Susie Blackburn (Curtis); brothers, David Simoneau (Sonya), Allen Simoneau (Barbara) and Danny Simoneau (Marla); sister, Sarah Addy (Kent); nephews, Thomas Henry and Chad Simoneau; nieces, Brittany Odom, Keli Barrett, Kelli Dailey and Shelby Addy; best friend, Dandy Everett; Several aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Pallbearers were Thomas Henry, Johnny Moulds, Danny Simoneau, Chad Simoneau, David Simoneau and Nathan White.
Honorary pallbearers were Kent Addy, Allen Simoneau, Josh Walker, Lucas Odom, Tyler Bennett, Billy Everett and Dillion Everett.
