Mary Beth Savell Tucker, 78, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018, at Central Mississippi Merritt Health Hospital in Jackson. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 24 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and from 10-11 a.m. Monday, June 25. The funeral service was also held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday. A committal service was held on Monday, at 3 p.m. at the Union City Cemetery in Union.
Mrs. Tucker was a long-time resident of Jackson and a member of Raymond Road Baptist Church. She loved her children and grand children. She was a wonderful cook and also enjoyed gardening, decorating, collecting elephants, golf, and traveling with her husband, especially to Alaska. One of her favorite pastimes was playing in golf tournaments with her son.
Preceding Mrs. Tucker in death were her parents, Alton and Mildred Savell; her son, David Tucker; and her sister, Brenda Vanlandingham.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Larry Tucker; her son, Darrin (Katie) Tucker of Pearl; her daughter, Lisa (Marc) Mitchell of Denham Springs, La.; two sisters, Martha (Richard) Rea of Union and Kathy (Brian) McNeely of Union; two grandchildren, Lauryn Tucker and Kyle Mitchell; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
