Bobbie Vance Chaney, 90, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7 at her home. Visitation was held Monday, Oct. 8 from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home – Union with service beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. Rev. Jimmy Holder officiated with Rev. Wayne Tate assisting. Burial followed in Lucern Congregational Methodist Church, where she was a faithful member all of her life.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Argus and Eliza Vance; seven sisters; husband, Billy Chaney; and daughter, Renae Chaney.
She is survived by her nephews, Eugene Chaney and wife, Wanda, Charles Moulds and wife, Judy, Allen Moulds, Milton Vance and wife, Jeannie; nieces, Patsy Holifield and husband, John, Julia Strebeck and husband, Jackie, Betty Wyatt, Martha Cleveland and husband, Pat.
Bobbie was the baby in a family of eight girls. She was born May 23, 1928 in Newton County. She enjoyed outside activities, cooking and taking care of sick family members. She loved children, and they loved her. Candy, cokes and treats were plentiful at her house.
Bobbie enjoyed many friends and caregivers. Miss Pat was her beloved caretaker for many years. She was very special to the entire family and helped make life comfortable in a loving way for Bobbie.
