Funeral services for Bonnie Jean Butts Scarbrough will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home of Union. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church cemetery. Bro. James McMillan will be officiating.
Mrs. Scarbrough, 74, formerly of Collinsville, passed away at her residence in Highlands, TX.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who made her family the love of her life. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very outspoken. She always told you what she thought and was very sociable with her family and friends. She was a very neat and orderly lady, everything had to be in its place.
Mrs. Scarbrough is survived by her children, Alvin L. “Lee” Smith (Kim), Tina Smith and Connie Tolbert; grandchildren, Ayla Wright, Shelby Tolbert and Brittney Smith; great-grandchildren, McKenna Wright and Eli Welde; her brothers, Howard Butts, Thomas Butts and Joe Butts; her sister, Sue Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Scarbrough was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Nellie Butts; her husband, Elbert Scarbrough; sisters, Mavis Alexander and Maxine Griffith; and brother, Donald Butts.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service.
