Services for Bro. Curtis L. Guess will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 at McClain-Hays Chapel with Revs. Tom McCurley and Tim Vowell officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Baptist Church
Cemetery in Choctaw County. Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 17 at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bro. Guess, 81, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia.
He was born in Attala County. Bro. Guess served as a Baptist minister for 58 years, serving numerous churches in Mississippi and Louisiana.
Survivors include two daughters, Tena (Steve) Stovall of Philadelphia and Gina (Tim) Mowdy of Newton; five grandchildren; and three brothers, William Guess of Mendenhall,
Jerry (Judy) Guess of Caledonia and Davie (Patsy) Guess of Union.
Bro. Guess was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva, in 2016.
In lieu of flowers family requests memorials be made to The Gideons International or Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
