Bruce O. Massey, 60, of Newton, MS, died Sunday, July 28, 2019, in Newton. He was born Friday, Feb. 13, 1959, in Biloxi, MS.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 at the Newton County Funeral Home- North. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 at Newton County Funeral Home- North, and the burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Joe Garvin will officiate. Bruce retired from the Army National Guard in 2005 as Sergeant First Class. He was employed by a military support contractor for 12 years in Kuwait. He grew up in Newton County. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He received numerous metals while serving his country. He was a volunteer firefighter for Hickory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Ray and Ann E. Massey.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Massey; daughters, Andi Boutwell (Johnathan) and Kara Ezell (Matt); two stepsons, Domonic Jenkins Sr. and Anthony Jenkins; grandchildren, Baleigh Boutwell, Raylen Boutwell and Madison Boutwell; grandsons; Nathaniel Ezell, William Ezell, Domonic Jenkins Jr. and Colton Jenkins; brother, Jimmy Massey; and sister, Anita Massey.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Green, Chris Green, Charles Massey, Johnathan Boutwell, Bo Dean and Scott Young.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Green, Matt Ezell and Steven Davis.
