Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Bobby Everett of Center Ridge Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed at Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Carol F. “Tootsie” Wells, 81, of Newton, passed away Sept. 18, 2019, in Enterprise, AL.
Tootsie was born in Newton to Clyde F. and Annie L. (Gibbon) Fitzgerald on Dec. 14, 1937. She graduated from Hickory High School, then many years later went on to graduate from Pensacola State College with a degree in Medical Records Management. After her kids were “grown and gone”, she worked as a Pediatric Biller for Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola until retiring. She enjoyed reading, fishing, and the outdoors. She loved her kids and really enjoyed family get-together’s. She had a deep inner love for Jesus.
Tootsie is survived by her sister, Gayle (John) Watson; son, Reuben (Yang); daughter, Karen Anne (Bill) Campbell; daughter-in-law, Cathy Wells; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Tootsie is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Victor Gilmore Wells; her parents, Clyde and Annie Fitzgerald; two brothers, Jesse and Maurice “Pete”; two sisters, Walterene “Doll” (Bartlett) and Linda (Cox); and two sons, Harlen Gilmore and Robert.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Center Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, 2252 Center Ridge Road, Chunky, MS 39323.
