Mrs. Seal, 89, of Union, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018, at J.G. Alexander Nursing Home in Union.
Clarice was born on July 21, 1928, in Conehatta to Vardaman and Clara Cater. Clarice and husband, Lloyd, celebrated 68 years of marriage at the time of his passing in October 2014. Both were seen as role models. They were a Godly couple who were loved and respected in the Conehatta Community.
Clarice graduated from Conehatta High School, where she met Lloyd, in 1946. They married later that year. In 1951, they moved their family to Oceanside, Calif., where Clarice went to work as an operator for Pacific Telephone Company for six years. She and her famil yreturned to Conehatta in 1962, where they built a home and lived for the next 44 years.
In 2006, Clarice and Lloyd moved to Union where they resided until the time of their deaths. Clarice was a life-long member of Conehatta Baptist Church.
Clarice was preceded in death by granddaughters Holly Sharp Arthur, Stephanie Dianne Horne, and grandson, Eric Davis Sharp.
Clarice is survived by three daughters, all of whom she proudly told were teachers:= Brenda Horne (Charles) of Fort Mill, S.C.; Elaine Sharp (Chubby) of Union; and Beverly Hamil (Danny) of Pass Christian; her six grandchildren, Heather Sharp Lowery (Paul); Pamela Horne Dixon (Mike); David Horne; Nathan Hamil (Laurel); and Corey Hamil; and four great- grandchildren: Chance Lowery, Brant Lowery, Jace Arthur, and Will Dixon. Clarice is also survived by her brother, James Cater (Jerry) and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doyle and Tommie Seal and Roy and Bettye Seal, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Clarice will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as a very kind and thoughtful person. She devoted her life to her family and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. We were blessed, as a family, to have such a loving, Christian mother and grandmother.
Pallbearers will be Charles Horne, David Horne, Paul Lowery, Nathan Hamil, Corey Hamil, and Wesley Seal.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Conehatta Baptist Church, 8580 Highway 489, Conehatta, Mississippi 39057 or the charity of your choice.
