Clark Adams, 69, of Newton, died Wednesday, July 5, 2017. He was born Saturday, Nov. 1, 1947, in Greenville, Ala.
Mr. Adams obtained his masters in church music from William Carey College and attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was with Clarke College for more than 20 years, serving as a music professor and chairman of the music department. He was also a minister of music for many churches throughout central Mississippi. He retired from his own business in 2012.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Joy Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Adams; three daughters, Christina Whittle, Lesley Adams and Lauren Everett Savell (Nathan); two grandchildren, Samuel Thomas Whittle and Sarah Beth Whittle; a brother, Andy Adams (Brenda); and nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service was held Friday, July 7 at Brushey Creek Baptist Church in Georgiana, Ala. Newton County Funeral Home – North was in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gideons International or American Cancer Society.
