Mr. Earnest Wendell Ferguson, 75, passed away on Wednesday Sept. 20, 2017, at his home in Conehatta. Visitation will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 and again from 9-9:50 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday Sept. 23 at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Lake. Officiating will be Bro. Tommy Anderson. Burial will follow in the Conehatta Cemetery. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Ferguson was a longtime resident of Conehatta, where he moved from Walnut Grove and was a member of the Conehatta Baptist Church. He was a Mason and member of the Conehatta Masonic Lodge. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt, and loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Early and Icey Ferguson; three brothers, Tommy, L.D. and Ray Ferguson; and one sister, Bonnie Ruth Dickerson.
He is survived by his sons, Tony Ferguson (Jennifer) and Randy Ferguson (Vicky), both of Decatur; three sisters, Bernice Allen of Causeyville, Betty Stevens of Lake, and Bobbie Reagan of Pelahatchie; one brother, Doyle Ferguson of Rosebud; special friend, Margie Ferguson of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Richard Ferguson, Jennifer Ferguson, Matthew Ferguson and Tori Ferguson; four great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Seal, John Mott, Junior Buntyn, Matthew Ferguson, Richard Ferguson and Dewight Jacobs.
