Funeral services for Mr. Edward Earl “Eddie” Watson Jr. were held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Gandy and Bro. Ben Duke officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Little Rock, MS.
Eddie Watson, 50, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2019 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center after a short battle with leukemia.
Eddie was a truck driver for 35 years. He enjoyed music and disc jockeyed as a hobby at various events. He was passionate about helping others, often cutting lawns for those that were sick or unable. Eddie was enthusiastic about rebuilding his grandfather’s 1977 Ford pickup. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kimberly Smith Watson; his children, Edward Earl “Trey” Watson III and Alison Vivian Watson; his mother, Brenda Privett Winick (Darrell); and his siblings, Carolyn Boles (Ronald), Mickey Watson (Dana) and Dennis Watson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Earl “Buster” Watson Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared with Gideons International or Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 29 Goforth Road, Little Rock, Mississippi 39337.
Pall bearers will be Michael Gray, Russ Moore, Tracy Waddell, Tommy Harwell, Matthew Oliver, Joe Butler and Shawn Oliver
The family wishes to express appreciation to their church family, friends, the doctors and nurses of UMMC, and a special aunt, Kathy Myers.
The family received friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
