Edward G. Watts, 68, of Newton, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017. He was born Friday, Oct. 29, 1948, in Star.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23 at Newton County Funeral Home — South. The Rev. Brian Rushing officiated. Newton County Funeral Home — South was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Watts served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. He loved his family especially the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was a friend to many and will certainly be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Pauline Watts; and a daughter Amanda Watts.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dot Watts; a son, Scott Watts (Chastity); two granddaughters, Aubre Watts and Kaelon Watts, a grandson Brady Watts; and a sister, Mary Jernigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Newton Elevator Fund.
