A service of life and resurrection for Mrs. Iris Weaver will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 4 at the Sebastopol United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allen Herrington officiating. Burial will be at Sebastopol City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 3 at Milling Funeral Home of Sebastopol.
Mrs. Iris Hamil Weaver, 73, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 2, 2017, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
She is survived by the love of her life and her best friend, Dennis Michael Weaver; her two children, Michelle (Briar) and MIcheal (Julie); three of dear grandsons, Mitchell, Giles and Matthan; and a brother James (Burnette) Hamil.
Mrs. Iris Weaver was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Gilbert Hamil.
Mrs. Iris Weaver was born in Sebastopol on Sept. 4, 1943, to Marie and Gilbert Hamil. She graduated from Sebastopol Attendance Center, East Central Junior College and Mississippi College with a degree in biology. She taught the gifted at Scott Central Attendance Center until starting a business with her husband in 1981. She was a member of Sebastopol United Methodist Church and secretary for a number of years, an avid gardener, she enjoyed traveling, being with her friends and family.
Her enthusiasm for life was tireless as was her energy. The great number of friends who visited her in her last days is a testament to the friend she was to others. Throughout her battle with Parkinson’s she was cared for by her loving husband Dennis with invaluable assistance from Mattie Ernest, Betty Viverette, Diane Bell, Linda Jo Anthony and numerous friends. They were a comfort to Iris and her family.
