James W. Wolverton passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Funeral services were conducted by Wilcox Funeral Home, Carthage, at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 20. Interment with military honors followed at High Hill Cemetery in Walnut Grove. The Rev. Mark Vincent, pastor of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church, Decatur, officiated.
James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anna Faye (Pinter) Wolverton; his son, Steve Wolverton (Vickie); and daughter, Anna Wolverton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his son, Ripley (Rip) James Wolverton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Church at Severn Run Building Fund, 8187 Telegraph Road, Severn, MD 21144. “Pop” invested much of his life and resources for the last 17 years as part of turning the Severn Run Farm into a growing work for God's Kingdom.
