Jason Thomas Bethea, 40, a resident of Brandon, passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. A memorial service was held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. The Rev. Carroll Farmer officiated the services.
Mr. Bethea was a native of Laurel, and was the son of Doug Bethea and Kathryn Bethea. He was married to Rhiannon Barrett Bethea. He worked for Centerpoint Gas Company for 14 years before becoming ill. He attended Word of Life Church in Flowood. Mr. Bethea was a New Orleans Saints fan and enjoyed golfing. He was a devoted husband, father and son. He was a family man and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Bethea was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter Bethea Jr. and Katherine Bethea; JC Farmer and Lois Farmer.
Mr. Bethea is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rhiannon Bethea; his children, Mason Douglas Henry Bethea and Mallory Brooke Bethea; his father, Doug (Joy) Bethea; his mother, Kathryn Bethea; two brothers, Jarod Barnes and Chad (Crystal) White; a sister, Suzie (Mark) Stanton; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
