Services for Mr. Jim Ashmore were held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019 at Neshoba Baptist Church with burial in the Neshoba Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Byron Howell, Rev. Rusty Walton and Rev. Warren Hedgepeth officiated.
Visitation was held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
Mr. Ashmore, 92, of Union, died on Nov. 2, 2019 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Ashmore of Union, two sons, Aaron Waddell and wife, Kay, of Union and Hubert Waddell of Union; grandchildren, Nicole Boone and husband, Brian, of San Antonio, TX, Amy Sharp of Union and Chris Waddell and wife, Ashley, of Caledonia, MS; and great-grandchildren, Griffen Boone, Drew Sharp, Matthew Sharp, Macee Waddell, Madison Waddell and Colton Waddell.
Mr. Jim Ashmore was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Ruth Ashmore; and one sister, Ann Rutter.
Pallbearers were Kenny James, Kenneth Watkins, Dan Denton, Wayne Denton, Drew Sharp, Jimmy Darby and David Hollingsworth.
Honorary Pallbearers were Allen Boler, Allen Hemphill, Arlin Boler, Jerry Russell and Webb Kelly.
Mr. Jim’s mother, Ruth Ashmore began Union Florist in the back of her home in 1959. Mr. Jim took over the Florist in 1972 and with the help of his wife Doris, they continued the business until 2009. He was also elected Citizen of the Year in 2006.
