Mr. Jimmy D. Posey, 73, passed away on Saturday Oct. 21, 2017, at the Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. Visitation was held from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday Oct. 23 and again on Tuesday Oct. 24 from 9– 9:50 a.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake. Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 24 at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Lake with the Rev. Randall Creel officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Baptist Cemetery in Lake. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Posey was a lifelong resident of Lake and was a member of Hazel Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a member of the Lake Masonic Lodge. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish; and loved gardening and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella Posey; and an infant brother. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Posey of Lake; his son, Donnie Posey (Lynn) of Lake; three sisters, Thelma Blackwell (James) of Decatur, Judy Gammill (Proby) of Lawrence, and Donna Poythress (Ronnie) of Fellowship; one brother, Johnny Posey (Delma) of Lawrence; three grandchildren, Andy Posey, Brett Posey and Mason Posey; four great-grandchildren, Andrew Posey, Emma Posey, Jase Posey and Jewel Posey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Mason Posey, Brett Posey, Andy Posey, Ronnie Poythress, Proby Gammill Jr., and Danny Ray Purvis. Honorary pallbearers were Proby Gammill Sr., Jason Posey and Danny McGee.
