Funeral services for Joey Bozeman, 48, of Union, were Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home with Rev. David Robinson officiating. Burial followed in the Marvin Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 at Bumpers Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
Joey passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, in Maryville, Il. He was born May 22, 1970, in Butler, Ala. to Dave Bozeman and Emma Louise Mazingo. He was a Journeyman Lineman for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Joey loved his family, including his work family. He was dedicated and would do anything for anyone. He was very passionate about the Alabama Crimson Tide and never missed watching any of their games. He was also a number one mechanic and often stated that, when he was in the Pick N Pull, that he was in his sanctuary. One of his favorite sayings was, “I make money. Money does not make me.” He also loved drinking Dr. Pepper. In Joey’s opinion there was no other soda.
Joey will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Renee Bozeman of Union; his mother, Emma Louise Bozeman of Toxey, Ala; children, Ashley Bozeman and her partner, Leslie Young, of Hattiesburg, Miss; Randall “Bubba” Bozeman of Union; “Like a Daughter” Ellen Reilly of Union; grandchildren Bryant Bozeman, Aubrey Bozeman, Roxie Keen, and Elliott Tims; brother-in-law, Clayton Keen; nephews, C.J. Jenkins and wife, Megan of Pelham, Ala. and Johnathon Keen of Philadelphia, Miss.; great-nieces, Maddi Jenkins and Lila Keen; great nephew, Logan James Jenkins; mother-in-law, Cindy Collins; and a host of cousins; “Like Brothers” Brad Cox of Muscle Sholes, Ala.; and Robbin Brown of Mobile, Ala; and a host of IBEW brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Bozeman; sister, Tina Bozeman; brothers Randy, Bryant and Clark Bozeman; grandparents, Milton and Sadie Mazingo and Jimmy and Emma Lou Means; and father-in-law, John “Wayne” Keen.
Pallbearers were Brad Cox, C.J. Jenkins, Matthew Harris, Carey Slayton, Tracy Taylor and Phillip Terry.
