John Arthur Reid, born Aug. 10, 1961, native of Union, Mississippi, passed away Dec. 5, 2019 surrounded by family.
John spent the last 40 years in Shepherd, Texas. For more than twenty years, John did what he loved most – working as an Arborist; tree surgeon and sharing ministries of God’s forgiving grace to anyone who would listen. 
John was preceded in death by his Mother, Julia Wilkerson Reid, Union, MS; Father, James William Reid Sr., Shepherd, TX; Stepmother, Ann Reid Langston, Little Rock, MS; Wife, Barbara Reid, Shepherd, TX; Niece, Erica (April) Reid Hopkins, Shepherd, TX.
John is survived in death by his children, Diana Green, Albuquerque, NM, John Thomas Reid, Hallsville, TX and Megan Reid Latham, Porter, TX; sisters, Cindy Reid Roebuck, Union, MS, Penny Reid Weeks, Metairie, LA and Edna Reid, Livingston, TX; brother, James William Reid, Jr. (Bill), Virginia Beach, VA; stepsisters, Brenda Thompson, Shepherd, TX and Patricia Terrell, Union, MS; and brother-in-law, Clayton Roebuck, Union, MS.
John is also survived in death by his supporting and loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews, co-workers, many clients and Christian friends. To say he will be missed is an understatement.
Memorial services will be held at Shepherd United Methodist Church, Shepherd, TX at 2 p.m. on Jan. 19, 2020.
